The Vision of Interconnected Calendars on WhereCanWeDance.com

One of the most powerful features of WhereCanWeDance.com is the interconnected calendars, which allow events to be discovered in multiple ways. This provides a streamlined and expansive way for dancers and organizers to connect with events across various perspectives. Here are the first two ways events can be discovered:

1. Organizer Profiles

When you submit an event, if there are any organizers hosting or co-hosting the event, the event will automatically populate on each of the organizerโ€™s profile pages. This ensures that all events associated with an organizer are visible to users exploring those profiles.

2. Event Type Pages

Each event type is linked to its corresponding global event type page. For example, if your event is categorized as a Jack and Jill, retreat, or marathon, it will appear on the global page for that specific event type, making it easier for users searching by event types to discover relevant events.

3. Artist Pages

Each artist has their own profile page, which displays both their upcoming and past events. When an artist is added to an event, the event will automatically populate on their profile, showcasing their upcoming travel schedule. This ensures that followers and event-goers can easily see where their favorite artists will be performing, teaching, or DJing.

4. Global Dance Style Event Calendars

Every dance style listed on an event is connected to our Global Dance Style Event Calendars. When an event is submitted and approved, it will automatically appear on the corresponding dance style calendar, offering a global view of events happening in that style across the world. This makes it easy for dancers to find events based on their preferred dance styles.

5. Local City Calendars

Events can also be discovered via our Local City Calendars. These pages offer a centralized place for cities to list all of their dance events in one place, eliminating the need for scattered Facebook chats, groups, pages, and posts. This provides an unbiased view of all dance events happening in a city, regardless of which school or instructor is hosting them. If there is a local city page corresponding to the location of the event, the event will automatically populate on that cityโ€™s calendar.

6. Robust Search by Location

Through our main search page, users can search for events across multiple scales of geolocation. They can search by continent, country, state/region, or city. Depending on the search filters and parameters entered, users can easily discover events based on their desired location, giving them a greater chance of finding exactly what theyโ€™re looking for.
